Logo Design, is it Evolution or Revolution?
Every wonder what goes into the redesign of a logo or identity? First of all, to even be part of redesigning a well-known brand identity is close to seeing a miracle. You’ll see Jesus on a potato chip before ever seeing the redesign of a global brand like Coca-Cola or Barbie. To even suggest a slight update or a minor tweak to a logo will get you the stink-eye from across the conference room table.
When the miracles happen, and you’re part of redesigning a logo, the needle barely moves and it’s hardly noticeable if any changes were made at all. This is what marketers and creatives call an “evolutionary design”.
To make a drastic change, like Barbie “pink” going to plaid is considered a revolutionary design! Or is it?
Well, you decide! Check out some of these household names and let us know what you think of these logo Evolutions or Revolutions!

It first appeared in the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 1886 as both a slab serif and chunky sans serif — it wasn’t until mid-1887 that Frank Robinson, Coca-Cola’s bookkeeper, drew the first traces of the Spencerian script logo that we all know.
Medical Marijuana? Well, it’s legal in some parts of our country.
Not only is it legal, but medical marijuana food products, (also known as edibles) need an identity too.
Yes, this was a real project. Here are just a few examples
of a new product line which needed a logo identity and package design.
